हामीले प्रतेक दिन बिहान तथा बेलुकी दांत सफा गर्न प्रयोग गर्ने tooth paste फ्लोराइड युक्त भएको भनेर बिज्ञापन गरिन्छ | यस्तो tooth paste को प्रयोगले दांत बलियो हुने भन्दै प्रचार गरिन्छ | तर यसका नकारात्मक पक्षका बारेमा भने कुनै जानकारी नै नदिएको पाइन्छ | युरोप तथा अमेरिकन लगायत बिकसित देश हरुमा यसले गर्ने नकारात्मक असरका कारण यस्तो फ्लोराइड युक्त tooth paste बन्द गरिनुका साथै पूर्ण रुपमा बन्देज लगाईएको छ |

फ्लोराइड रा यसबाट हुने असर सम्बन्धि केहि जानकारी :

१.        ३०० भन्दा बढी अध्ययन हरु ले फ्लोराइड मस्तिस्क मा असर गर्ने रासायनिक पदार्थ रहेको पुस्टि गरेको छ |

२.       १०० भन्दा बढी जनावर मा गरिएको अध्ययन क आधारमा, लामो समयसम्म फ्लोराइड को प्रयोग गर्दा मस्तिस्क लाई बिगार्ने परिणाम प्राप्त भयो |

३.       ५३ भन्दा बढी मानिस मा गरिएको अध्ययनले फ्लोराइड को कारण मानिसको दिमागको क्षमता ह्रास हुने कुरा प्रस्ट भएको छ |

४.       ४५ भन्दा बढी मुसा तथा बिरालो मा गरिएको अध्ययन ले फ्लोराइड को कारण सम्झने क्षमता नस्ट हुने कुरा प्रमाणित भएको छ |

५.       ३ जना मानिसमा गरिएको अध्ययन अनुसार फ्लोराइड को कारण कम बिकसित मस्तिस्क युक्त बच्चाको जन्म हुने कुरा प्रमाणित भएको छ |

६.      In 2006, the National Research Council (NRC) stated that “it is apparent that fluorides have the ability to interfere with the functions of the brain.” In addition to calling for U.S.-based research on fluoride’s IQ effects, the NRC expressed concern about fluoride’s possible contribution to dementia. According to the NRC:

७.      In July of 2012, a team of Harvard researchers published a “meta-analysis” of 27 studies that have investigated the relationship between fluoride and human intelligence. (Choi 2012) The overwhelming majority of these studies found that fluoride exposure was associated with reduced IQ in children. In fact, 26 of the 27 studies that met the Harvard team’s inclusion criteria found a relationship between elevated fluoride and reduced IQ. The Harvard team thus concluded that fluoride’s effect on the developing brain of children should be a “high research priority” in countries like the U.S. where, despite mass fluoridation programs, no studies have yet been conducted to investigate the issue.

८.      In March of 2014, the prestigious medical journal The Lancet published a review of “developmental neurotoxicity” which concluded that fluoride is one of only 11 chemicals that is known to damage the developing brain. Developmental neurotoxins are capable of causing widespread brain disorders such as autism, attention deficit hyperactivity disorder, learning disabilities, and other cognitive impairments.  The harm is often untreatable and permanent.
